Roger Nguyen is an honors student at Villanova University, pursuing a major in Computer Science with a double major in Economics and a concentration in Cognitive Science. His academic interests lie at the intersection of technology, economics, and human cognition, driven by a simple belief: that AI should be technically rigorous and genuinely equitable. His long-term goal is to build enterprise-scale AI systems and high-throughput data platforms that create real access, including an ecosystem where children worldwide can learn personalized, high-quality science at zero cost.
Roger has built hands-on experience across software engineering and data science internships at both startups and corporations, mostly in full-stack, backend, and AI-applied aspects. He's also done NLP research in semantic graphs and multilinguality. As a member of Villanova's competitive programming team and an active hackathon participant (and a two-time winner), he's open to learning new frameworks, building things fast and scalable, and connecting with other developers.
Outside of work, Roger loves traveling (he's explored multiple US states and has been to both the country and state of Georgia), stargazing, swimming, and tennis. In fact, he won a bronze medal at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) before pivoting to computer science.
Roger is actively looking for opportunities to apply his full-stack, backend, and AI-applied development experiences to solve complex challenges. He is eager to contribute to building scalable, socially impactful products.
Yours sincerely,
Roger Nguyen
